Cracked crowns do the most damage to a chimney allowing moisture into the chimney causing deterioration of the brick and mortar, and damages flue liners.
We use Crown Repair Mix which comes with a 10-Year Warranty. This procedure is less expensive than tearing off the old crown and pouring a new concrete crown. Most crowns are installed with masonry which allows easy cracking.
